Discover the art of coiled basketry.
Join contemporary fibre artist Monique Ross of Heartwood Nature Bathing for a hands-on workshop exploring the traditional craft of coiled basketry.
Working with raffia, discover how simple natural fibres can be transformed into beautiful, sculptural forms through wrapping, stitching and coiling.
Monique will introduce foundational coiling techniques and guide you through building form, texture and structure. With prepared starting pieces to help you get straight into making, you’ll have the opportunity to experiment with materials and develop your own handcrafted piece.
This relaxed, creative workshop offers a chance to slow down, work with your hands and explore a traditional skill through contemporary creative practice.
Suitable for beginners, with no previous basketry experience required.
