Heritage Hands Festival: Sandgate is bringing together makers, artisans, craftspeople and specialist practitioners to share their skills, knowledge and stories with the community.

We’re currently inviting expressions of interest from people working across traditional, specialist and increasingly rare arts, crafts and trades, as well as contemporary practices that draw on or evolve these skills.

There are a number of ways to take part, from selling your work at the Makers Market to running a workshop, demonstrating your practice or sharing your story.

Ways to take part

• Makers Market
  Join our curated Makers Market on Saturday 7 November, from 12–5pm, to showcase and sell your work and connect directly with festival visitors.
• Workshops
  Lead a hands-on workshop that gives participants an opportunity to experience your craft, process or specialist skill.
• Demonstrations
  Show your practice in action and give visitors an insight into the tools, techniques, materials and knowledge behind what you do.
• Talks & storytelling
  Share the story behind your practice, knowledge or experience as part of the festival’s talks and PechaKucha program.
• Heritage & community activations
  We also welcome expressions of interest from guilds, associations, heritage organisations and specialist groups interested in presenting displays, demonstrations or participatory activities.
